Nutrition
A healthy body starts with the right food and activity. When pregnant, eating right is important for both mother and child. However, everyone should be conscious about the food they consume. You can take preventative steps to avoid foodborne illness and other general health problems.
Balancing your diet will ensure that your body is getting the nutrition it needs for strong bones, immune system, organs, and mental health. Your diet should include protein, carbohydrates, fat, vitamins, minerals, and plenty of water. One easy way to manage nutrition is to look at your plate during meals. About half the plate should be meat or fish and whole grains, while the other half should be fruit and vegetables. The famous recommendation for water is to drink eight 8oz glasses per day, but the water can come from other fluids, such as juice. Drinking enough fluids keeps you energized and hydrated throughout the day. Every woman’s body is unique. A diet that may work for one person may not be right for another. Talk to your caregiver to discuss balancing your diet in a healthy way.
