What the Clinic Sofia team is looking forward to this summer
Now that summer has officially arrived, our team is looking forward to outdoor fun and adventure, new challenges, travel and fun time at home. We asked what they were most excited about and here is what they had to say:
Katie Sexe-Talbot, Administrator: I am looking forward to our annual family trip to Grandview Lodge in Nisswa. We haven’t been able to go for a couple of years due to Covid, so it’s nice to have our annual trip back on the calendar. Otherwise, like every other Minnesotan, we are trying to spend as much time outside this summer as possible.
Jeni Rossow, Sonographer: I am looking forward to my trip to Rainy Lake in July. My husband and I love it up there. We love to fish and always try to catch those trophy fish! The views are breathtaking and to be honest the peace and quiet isn’t so bad either. Here’s to hoping I’ll be Clinic Sofia’s first to catch a Minnesota state record fish!
Lauren James, Project Coordinator: I will be finalizing my doula internship and will be a Certified Doula this coming fall. I am excited that I got to attend my last intern birth a couple weeks ago.
Cindy Swanson, Medical Receptionist: Definitely my 3.5-week trip to Italy! Otherwise, we enjoy bike riding, playing yard games and going to the lakes in the cities.
Kristin Larson, Business Office: Lots of fun outside time with baby Henrik! Walks, going to the park, going on the pontoon, and enjoying Minnesota summer for the first time at 8 months old.
Jenn Robinson, Triage Nurse: We are most looking forward to having a new puppy this summer! We will be outside A LOT with potty training and Missy loves the water!
Elise Pesch, Nurse Practitioner: I am most looking forward to visiting Chicago at the end of July. I’ll have missed Pitchfork Music Festival, but it was one of my favorite summer events when I lived there and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a more laid-back summer music festival where you can sit on a picnic blanket and enjoy the music and sun!
lesha McDaniel, Sonographer: We just got back from the Wisconsin Dells, where we stayed in a condo at Wilderness Resort with my family, my parents, and my sister and her family! It was a blast that included lots of swimming and water parks, Timbavati wildlife park, and swimming in Lake Delton. We also did a huge water obstacle course which was a blast! Our next family trip is a road trip to Texas so stay with my husband’s parents and family. I’m not super excited about the 15-hour drive with three littles but it’ll be great once we get there to spend time with family we don’t see very often.
Katie Tjader, Medical Receptionist: Bike rides, yoga in the park, walks around the lakes, reading on the deck, and trips to the cabin!
Jess Sharp, Medical Assistant: We will be going to a big family reunion in July for my dad’s side of the family and another one in August for my mom’s side.
Beth Seifert, Medical Receptionist: I plan on celebrating my 39th birthday on July 27, seeing my sister perform in “Hello Dolly” (she is playing the role of Dolly!) and going to the Minnesota State Fair!
Sarah Brock, Physician Assistant: Going sailing in Hawaii for our honeymoon next month is at the top of my summer plans!
