Get to Know: Dr. Wagner
Even though Dr. Jewelia Wagner is a native of Nebraska, she embodies the spirit of a true Minnesotan. Since moving here in 2002, she has learned to enjoy the great outdoors in every season, including winter—embracing the cold and finding fun ways to keep busy such as skiing, snowmobiling and ice fishing. Here are some other fun facts about Dr. Wagner: Family: My husband and I have 13-year-old and 2-year-old daughters. What do you love about being a mother? It is so rewarding to watch kids grow and learn new things as they develop. There is also the feeling of unconditional love that is so special! What things do you enjoying doing outside of work? Playing volleyball, running, family bike rides, traveling, landscaping and gardening.
Favorite travel destination? Mexico or anywhere warm! Best advice? In high school, I had an amazing coach who told us to “be a balanced person.” That advice has stayed with me and comes through in my life today as I strive to balance a professional career, motherhood and fun. If you weren’t a doctor…I’d be a florist. Something you may not know about her…Dr. Wagner has always been very active. The four-sport school athlete and collegiate volleyball player remains an avid runner, volleyball player and skier. She was featured in a 2013 Star Tribune article, sharing her story about returning to a fitness regimen following the birth of her daughter.
