Updates from Clinic Sofia During COVID-19
Many of you have seen our updates in the past week, and we have also been in contact with patients regarding upcoming appointments. The situation with COVID-19 is continually changing and we will do our best to keep you updated on any changes to our clinic operations. Right now, we have made no changes to our hours, but we have the following important updates.
Virtual Visits
We are now offering virtual visits with our providers. If you have a non-urgent visit and would prefer to talk to your provider from the comfort and safety of your home rather than postponing your appointment, please call us at 952-922-7600 to switch your visit to a videoconference with your provider. We can provide complete details and instructions when you call. For more information on how these visits will be conducted and what to expect, please read this article.
Clinic Sofia Visitor Policy
Effective immediately, we are requiring patients come alone to their visits to Clinic Sofia. This includes no children or infants. We have lifted our video restrictions during exams and ultrasounds and welcome you to Facetime/videoconference your partner during your appointment.
Labor and Delivery Visitor Policy
The latest visitor policy, as of March 20, at both Maple Grove Hospital and Fairview Southdale Hospital, is currently limiting visitors to one per patient, including the Labor and Delivery unit. Children under 18 are not allowed to visit. This policy may change in the future so please ask for the most updated information upon your admission to the hospital. For more information on labor and deliver during COVID-19, please read this article.
Sick Patients or Travelers
In an effort to keep everyone safe, we are asking patients experiencing any of the common flu-like symptoms (fever, cough, shortness of breath) to NOT visit our clinic locations. Further, patients who have traveled in the past 14 days will be asked to reschedule their appointment for a later date.
If you answer yes to any of the following questions, please call us at 952-922-7600 to reschedule your appointment or to speak with a nurse.
- Have you or a person near you had a fever in the last 24 hours? (Please check your temperature before you come to your visit.)
- Have you or a person near you had any respiratory or flu-like symptoms (cough, body aches, sore throat) in the last 24 hours?
- Have you traveled in the last 14 days or been on a cruise?
- Have you recently been tested for any respiratory infections including COVID-19?
At Clinic Sofia, we are in regular contact with the Minnesota Department of Health to ensure we can provide the best possible care for all of our patients. We will continue to keep you posted regarding any new updates and developments.
