Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT)
Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) involves medications that contain female hormones designed to replace those that the ovaries stop producing. Women with symptoms of menopause may discover that HRT is a good option for them. HRT can be delivered via pill, patch, cream, gel or a slow-release suppository.
There are also non-hormonal medications and lifestyle changes that may help alleviate symptoms of menopause.
HRT does not prevent menopause, but it may alleviate your symptoms. This is a conversation worth having with your caregiver throughout menopause so that you can both feel and live better.
