A woman’s sexuality is a very personal subject. Sofia encourages open, honest communication about fertility, contraception, and sterilization options.
Preconception and Fertility
If you are ready to become pregnant, you may want to talk to your healthcare provider. Your caregiver is here to help you plan for a healthy baby with preconception counseling. Becoming pregnant is not easy for all couples. Fertility treatments and counseling are available to help you and your partner conceive.
There are many forms of contraception available to Sofia’s patients, including birth control medication, barrier methods such as condoms, IUDs, and permanent sterilization. Your caregiver may recommend contraception to prevent STIs or treat a condition, but contraception use is always a personal choice.
Once you are done childbearing, you may choose to prevent future pregnancies. When you want to know your permanent sterilization options, please ask your caregiver about Essure, laparoscopic tubal ligation, and vasectomy.
